While At Oswego High School, Bedell oversaw the 2014 Spring musical. During this process Bedell served as the production manager, technical director, set designer, light designer, sound designer, and master carpenter. The production was an overall success in the community and high school.

Show synopsis: “Anything Goes” is a classic musical theatre piece full of comedy, love stories and tap dancing. “Anything Goes” follows the story of the nightclub singer turned evangelist, Reno Sweeney, as she sets aboard the S.S. American with her fallen Angels in tow.

Reno’s longtime friend and possible suitor, Billy Crocker, finds himself on the ship after he follows a former flame, Hope Harcourt, onto the ship. He does this after hearing Hope is set to marry the wealthy Lord Evelyn Oakleigh on the S.S. American. Sailing across the Atlantic is also Moonface Martin, Public Enemy Number Two, with his sidekick and sailor fanatic, Erma, who both start to stir up trouble for the Captain on his ship. What’s to follow is a hilarious and yet touching story of love, deceit, and a few dance numbers.

With music and lyrics by Cole Porter, audiences will recognize several tunes like “De-Lovely,” “Friendship,” and “Anything Goes.” This musical was first performed in 1934, but has since had the likes of Tony Award winners Patti LuPone and Sutton Foster play the title role of Reno Sweeney.
