Latin Night: Una Noche con Amigo

The Oswego High School LASO Club (Latin American Student Organization) presented the first ever Latin Night at the Oswego High School. The night was a celebration of culture and diversity, and highlighted several musical acts and other performers.
The evening was the created by OHS students who wanted an opportunity to share their culture while highlighting the diversity of the Oswego community, and bring people together for a night of entertainment. The event was hosted by OHS students and coincided with National Hispanic Heritage Month. The event also helped raise funds for LASO and the Spanish Club at OHS.
Throughout the evening, the audience was treated to the sights and sounds of many musical performances as well as interactive trivia as the audience learned about Latin culture. The event also featured Dr. Eva Serrano, an Aurora University professor, who highlighted the importance of education. Several OHS students also wore their quinceañera dresses as the audience learned about this important coming-of-age ceremony in Latin culture. With over 200 people in attendance and a finale that included students and audience members dancing on stage, the night was deemed a great success.
